Physics one-liners for various competitive examinations

Physics

Welcome to Physics Section page.

We know the importance of general awareness, GK (General Knowledge) in various competitive exams for aspirants.

We are publishing general awareness notes and study material on various subjects daily.

We publish articles on this page from Physics part and general knowledge point of view.

These Physics notes are extremely useful for all exams including Bank Exams.

Physics and other General Awareness bits help in the last minute preparation for various exams.

1- The mass of a body is the quantity of matter contained in it. It is an inherent and fundamental property of the body. It is independent of external factors like position and surroundings.

2-The weight of a body, on the other hand, is the force with which it is attracted by the Earth towards its center and is equal to mass and acceleration due to gravity.

3-Units of force and weight are same.

4-The S.I. unit of weight is newton N.

5- Another unit of force is called the gravitational force. This unit is kilogram weight(kg. wt.) or kilogram-force(kg.f) in S.I. system. In C.G.S. system, units of force (weight) are gm. wt. or gmF.

6- Hook’s law states that the stretching of the spring is proportional to the applied force.

7-Hook’s law is helpful in the determination of the weight of the body.

8- Kinematics is the study of the mechanical motion of bodies, without regard for the cause of motion like forces, interacting bodies etc.

9-The time of ascent is equal to the time of descent.

10- The time interval between the time of projection and the time when the projectile passes the same horizontal plane through the point of projection is called the time of flight.

11- Mechanics is the branch of Physics which deals with the behavior of matter under the action of forces.

12- The time taken by a body thrown up to reach maximum height ‘h’ is called its time of ascent.

13- The time taken by a freely falling body to touch the ground is called the time of descent.

14- The study of the motion of a body under the action of a force is called dynamics.

15- For anybody three types of motions are there. They are translatory, oscillatory and rotatory motions.
