Physics one-liners for various competitive examinations

Physics
Physics

Welcome to Physics Section page.

We know the importance of general awareness, GK (General Knowledge) in various competitive exams for aspirants.

We are publishing general awareness notes and study material on various subjects daily.

We publish articles on this page from Physics part and general knowledge point of view.

These Physics notes are extremely useful for all exams including Bank Exams.

Physics and other General Awareness bits help in the last minute preparation for various exams.

1-Smallest length that can be measured accurately using an instrument is called least count of that instrument.

2- A Screw Gauze is a mechanical device used to measure the diameter of a wire or thickness of a glass plate etc., up to an accuracy of the third decimal place of a centimeter.

3-The distance between two adjacent threads or the distance traveled by the tip of the screw in one complete revolution of the head is called the pitch of the screw.

4-Screw Gauze works on the principle of a Screw.

5-While measuring the length of an object we must keep the eye vertically above the division to be observed. Otherwise, an error called Parallax error creeps into the measurement.

6-Least Count of a Screw Gauze L.C. = Pitch of the Screw/ No. of Head Scale divisions.

7-If the zeroth division of the head scale does not coincide with the index line the screw gauze has zero error.

8-If the zeroth division of the Head scale is above the index line of the pitch scale the error is said to be negative and the correction is positive.

9-If the zeroth division of the Head Scale is below the index line of the pitch scale the error is said to positive and the correction is negative.

10-Screw Gauze is also called as Micrometer.

11-Ptolemy was responsible for the Geocentric theory.

12-Copernicus was responsible for Heliocentric theory.

13- Every object in the Universe attracts every other object and this is known as Force of Gravitation. This law is known as the Universal Law of Gravitation.

14-According to the Heliocentric theory, the Earth, and other planets move in perfect circles around the sun which were fixed at the center of these circles.

15-According to the Geocentric theory, the earth is stationary and is at the center of the universe, with the Sun, the Moon, Planets, and Stars revolving around the Earth.
